Life-long gardening enthusiast, horticulturist by trade and communicator by profession Adam carries with him the sort of wealth of knowledge and depth of expertise that can only come from being a ‘hands-on’ person. Adam has long believed that the average home-owner has become increasingly distanced from the pleasures of gardening. To that end he takes great care to communicate his passion and knowledge in a manner that is approachable, accessible and inclusive.

Adam’s emphasis is on the lifestyle and sustainable angles of gardening, he believes that a home garden can and should be beautiful, practical and environmentally sound.

Adam has studied Horticulture, Landscape and Media & Communications.
This academic background combined with over two decades of experience across a diverse range of fields in the garden lifestyle and horticultural industries gives him a unique balance of skills.

In Autumn 2012 Adam made his debut television appearance on the popular, nationally broadcast gardening show The Garden Gurus as the New South Wales horticultural and garden lifestyle presenter.

Since its launch in late 2012 Adam has been the Product Ambassador and Horticultural Consultant for the new Australian researched, developed and produced bio-fertiliser UltraBoost+6 from The Good Earth Company.

Since early 2010 Adam has operated his own specialised communications business with his editorial and photographic work appearing in quality magazines such as Better Homes & Gardens, Gardening Australia and Burke’s Backyard to name a few. He has also worked with a number of major gardening industry companies on marketing and communication projects.

From its first episode in September 2008 Adam has been the gardening host on the nationally syndicated weekly Better Homes & Gardens Radio Show, a show listened to every week by nearly 1/2 a million people on 70 stations around the country making it one of the top-five syndicated commercial radio programmes in Australia. He has been the guest radio gardener on occasional segments on Radio 2GB and has also voiced radio advertising campaigns for big brands such as Linderman’s Wines and Scott’s Osmocote.

Since early 2011 Adam has been publishing his own self-produced garden videos to his YouTube channel, A Gardener’s Clippings. These very popular videos have racked-up well over 200,000 unique views from around the planet.

Adam has photographed garden shows around the world including the famous Chelsea Flower Show and has worked as the principal photographer for the prestigious Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show and the NSW Nursery & Garden Industry Association’s premier event - Green Expo Sydney.

For nearly seven years Adam was deputy gardening editor with Australian Better Homes & Gardens magazine. There he authored and photographed a huge variety of garden and landscape stories often working closely on location with the Better Homes & Gardens television production team.

Adam’s broad ranging experience across the garden lifestyle sector includes managing a large retail nursery marketing group, management in retail nursery, operating his own garden design consultancy business and teaching horticulture & home garden design at Community Colleges.

For over a decade Adam has been a regular speaker on garden and history themed harbour cruises with The Australian National Maritime Museum and he is a guest speaker at a range of garden shows. From 2012 Adam will be hosting history and garden tours to Norfolk Island.

Adam’s contributions to the Australian horticultural media have been repeatedly recognised by his peak industry body - the Horticultural Media Association (HMA). They have awarded Adam for his horticultural photography in both 2005 and 2008.
In 2009 he received the HMA accolade of ‘
Excellence In Radio Presentation’ for his work on the Better Homes & Gardens radio show and in 2011 was a finalist in both the webpage design/technology and radio categories in the HMA Laurels awards.

Adam has won a multitude of sustainability, environmental and design awards for his garden designs. He is deeply passionate about contemporary sustainable home garden design, opening up a dialogue on sustainability with his audience long before ‘sustainable’ became a buzz-word. Today, in conjunction with his media work, Adam continues in this line and operates his own small garden and horticultural business - Today’s Garden - designing, creating and caring for beautiful, contemporary, sustainable gardens.

Adam opened his multi award-winning former home garden in suburban Sydney every year in the prestigious Australian Open Garden Scheme to showcase his design ideas and share his vision with others.
With the help of his wife and young daughter he is presently rebuilding the much larger gardens around his new family home on Sydney’s leafy North Shore. These gardens are the backdrop for most of his
videos.

Adam is a member of the Australian Horticultural Media Association (HMA), sits on the New South Wales committee of the HMA and is a Garden Selector for Open Gardens Australia.
